Youth Aviation STEAM Camps in Indianapolis

Take the Captain's Controls and Command the Sky

Once a child discovers the magic of flight, the next step is discovering how to control it. Our Intermediate Aviation STEAM camp is engineered specifically for students in grades 3 through 5 who are ready to dive deeper into the mechanics of aerospace engineering. While this course path is the perfect logical next step for graduates of our introductory 101 camp, it is completely open to any tech-minded young student ready for a serious operational upgrade. This week-long summer experience transitions children from purely observing airplanes to actively discovering how flight systems cooperate in real-time. Give your child a summer of true interactive discovery that will sharpen their critical thinking, build deep teamwork skills, and set up a launchpad for future success.

Move Beyond the Classroom and Into the Dashboard

We don't settle for static diagrams or paper airplane models. This intermediate track focuses heavily on active problem-solving, team building, and tactile execution. Your child will split their time between active field environments and hands-on laboratory setups designed to mirror professional pilot training loops.

Desktop Flight Simulation Training

For the first time, students will step behind the dashboard in our computing lab. Using industry-standard configurations running Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane, cohorts will learn to navigate flight patterns, manage thrust settings, calibrate headings, and execute clean virtual takeoffs and landings.

Intermediate Aircraft Anatomy

Our hangar visits graduate to true systemic exploration. Guided by certified flight safety professionals and active pilots, students step back up to real aircraft to examine control surfaces, look closely at mechanical flaps, and find out exactly how moving parts manipulate aerodynamics.

Collaborative Team Building

Aviation is a team sport. Our intermediate curriculum challenges cohorts to work together through complex simulated search-and-rescue profiles, route planning maps, and operational communications that replicate real cockpit crew resource management.

The Aviation STEAM Deep Dive

Advanced Concepts Made Accessible

Our nonprofit completely reinvents standard education models by ensuring the "A" in our curriculum explicitly champions

Aviation. We use the absolute thrill of flight mechanics to anchor fundamental core competencies, turning complicated topics into tasks your child will love to master.

Science: Exploring the physical properties of lift, drag, gravity, and thrust, while testing how structural weight and balancing change an airplane's glide trajectory.

Technology: Navigating inside digital flight simulation code layouts, calibrating virtual weather scenarios, and finding out how modern digital display metrics keep pilots oriented.

Engineering: Hands-on aerodynamic structural tasks where students design, prototype, and build operational wing shapes to see how small design modifications change real lift output.

Aviation: Diving cleanly into operational tracking patterns, airport infrastructure, real ground logic pathways, and the diverse collection of professions that maintain control towers globally.

Math: Utilizing flight paths, fuel consumption ratios, simple mapping coordinates, and angle adjustments to transform math metrics into a practical tool for runway navigation.

Stress-Free Logistics for Working Families

Complete Full-Service Management on the Ground

We know that arranging multi-kid scheduling blocks during June and July can be an operational bottleneck for busy parents. NAYR Foundation treats full-service coordination as our personal guarantee, ensuring you experience zero friction throughout the enrollment process.

Our All-Inclusive Care Plan

Secure daily cohort transportation, balanced hot meals, and healthy snacks and beverages are fully covered inside the program camp tuition. We safely manage all morning and evening transit loops, keep your child perfectly fueled throughout active simulator modules, and completely eradicate the need for daily brown-bag packing lists.

Secure Your Child's Simulator Station Before Slots Close

Because our desktop simulation labs feature fixed hardware arrays and strict pilot-to-student ratios, space inside our Indianapolis summer cohorts is rigorously limited. Lock in your child's tracking seat directly through our secure checkout form to prevent contact issues or spacing bottlenecks.
